What lovely weather to end a hectic week!

Wow, the current weather has really made me realise how much I adore summer! BUT, it also shows how quick time is passing, I mean obviously it isn't near to summer and these 2 days were a fluke ( or global warming ) but time is flying by so quick, especially this semester. Its crazy to think that in 5 weeks it'll be Easter Break, then our exams begin and then it'll be the end of 1st year! What a scary thought!

P.s That last photo is supposed to be off a big flock of birds however my phone quality is very poor!

Ahh, yesterday was such a lover-ly day! The swans looked soo pretty in the sunlight, as did everything else! The parents came to visit yesterday and we of course to a stroll around the UEA Broad as well as hitting good old Chapelfields for a bitta Wagamamas!

Hope everyone had a brilliant weekend, I know I certainly did!!

Change

Ops, haven't posted for a while! Been busy doing nothing if I'm honest. I have had a few runs around the lake but unfortunately haven't had my camera with me thus am providing you with some old pictures instead, although currently looking out my window the sky seems to be a similar colour to that above.

The weeks seem to be flying by lately, before you know it it'll be Summer ( which I can not wait for ), but my thoughts this week have been about change.
Do you ever get them moments where you just want to do something different, whether its having a new haircut, changing your fashion or maybe taking up a new hobby? Well that's what I am currently experiencing. Don't get me wrong, I love everything in life at the moment but I want something new and exciting to happen but I just don't know what...
Who knows what the future will bring though, change is always happening and one day I shall look back at all of this and I'm sure my life will be very different to how it is now.

Happy Valentines Day

I once read a quote about 2 to 3 years ago now that was one of the most special quotes I had ever read and meant so much to me, however I've never been lucky enough to trace back to the website I read it from. It would have been perfect for this Valentines Day post!

I hope everyone is having a lovely day whether you are sharing it with a special someone or with all your amazing friends and family!

Sundays

I wish I could share a photo of UEA today but seeing as Im at home on a different computer it would be some what impossible. I also wish that I had something exciting to share but I really don't.

My day has been pretty boring, sitting by the radiator watching catch up t.v has probably been the highlight of my day but it allowed me to catch up on the brilliant programme named 'Super Smart Animals' where Liz Bonnin (who I am very jealous of) travels around the planet on a mission to find the most intelligent animals! Iplayer it, you won't be disappointed.

Now, where would this post be without some photos. These are some photographs taken back in summer of my favourite little insect, the Lady Bird:

Home sweet home

Proper food, no washing up and actual live television, was about time I have a weekend at home. For me home lies within the county of Hertfordshire ( if you don't know where that is Google it ) and takes a good 2 hours plus on the train to get from Norwich to here.

After digging into some amazing home-made shepherds pie and plum crumble I came across some old photos on my computer. I had always dreamt about being a nature photographer one day but I have never had a job or saved up the money to buy a decent camera. I currently own a 5 year old little pink Sony Cyber shot camera however 'she' is getting very old now and doesn't seem to achieve the same quality in her photos anymore thus I would like to share with you some of my favourites photographs taken with my Cybershot to prove that she was once a very good piece of technology!

Dogs & snow

Fresh air was defiantly needed after being stuck in all day yesterday but my gosh was it chilly this morning. I looked like Rudolph by the time I got back to my room!
This post is mainly for my photos I took whilst on my walk. Top left: Dogs and snow are a perfect combination, they just always look so excited and adorable! I physically can NOT wait for the day that I own a Beagle, who by the way will be named Dollie.

P.s I hope you like the other photos, I would write a bit more about them but have a chemistry lecture to attend :')

Evening

Oh how I love blue skies, they make any photo look special!
These little beauties were taken back in November where you get that lovely crisp weather that has a balance of being refreshingly cold with a spark of warmth when you stand in the sunlight.

Talking of weather, which can I just say must be the most popular conversation starter here in England, I can not WAIT for Summer at UEA! I can just imagine it already, everyone out on the green with their drinks and cameras, having little barbecues by the broad and relaxing on the tiny beach. Ek!

Sunset

Every time you wake up and ask yourself, What good things am I going to do today?, remember that when the sun goes down at sunset, it will take a part of your life with it.

Winter Watch

Okay, I thought I was really original when I mentioned about 2 years ago that I was going to create a Winter Watch, but it seems that everyone has had the same idea. Thrilled to hear that Autumn Watch will have a Winter special though and no matter what happens, I WILL be on their one day! ( I can dream )

Life is like a box of chocolates

My momma always said, "Life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get."
Forest Gump
The atmosphere today felt so different around University. Walking to my lecture and feeling like no one was around, that no-one could brace the cold or the snow unlike yesterday.
Its upsetting to see the snow slowly melt away but what's more upsetting is the way that people had left cardboard, sledges, broken chairs and general rubbish all over the campus. On a plus though, it nice to see that the snowmen are left unharmed or in this case, Hello Kitty:

Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts at UEA campus created this piece to promote their opening of a new Japan Exhibition. Read more at: http://www.scva.ac.uk/exhibitions/current/index.php?exhibition=118

Snow is exhilarating

Sunshine is delicious, rain is refreshing, wind braces us up, snow is exhilarating; there is really no such thing as bad weather, only different kinds of good weather.
John Ruskin

Snow is a beautiful thing, the way it makes everything in life seem so peaceful and content. I could just sit and watch a delicate snowflake fall elegantly to the ground for hours on end day dreaming about life.

It makes me think though, why is it that today was one of the busiest days I have seen the Broad this Winter? Why not when its blue sky and you can appreciate the true beauty of the tree colours. I suppose its something different, something we don't get often, and when it arrives it brings all different emotions and just brings everyone together.

I could of gone sledging today, I could of had a snowball fight, I could have made a beautiful snowman, but instead I took my weekly walk admiring a view of the Broads that I had not yet got to see:

Jealousy..

I am honestly so jealous of the view that Norfolk and Suffolk Terrace have.. Imagine just sitting in your kitchen for breakfast and looking at such a gorgeous outlook! Though I love my room in Paston House, the view of a roundabout and the medical centre just doesn't quite compare. I hope the residents realise how lucky they are and make the most of it!!

Pooh Sticks!

After introducing the beauty of the UEA Broad to my course friends, we seem to take a stroll around the lake every week in between our Friday lectures. The bitterness of the winds didn't stop us, and although the lake was frozen over we were still able to have a little game of Pooh Sticks ( Throw a stick off a bridge and watch it go stream in a race form ) in the river.

To The Sea-Side

Brr. Took a little trip to Hunstanton this afternoon to collect some rock samples for our chemistry module. Safe to say it was my first ever witness of snow on a beach, AMAZING...

Wildlife Trail Opening

The grand opening of UEA's Wildlife Trail took place today following an astounding £9,000 grant from the Big Lottery Fund! I managed to get myself down there straight after my lecture to watch the speeches and have another glimpse of  'Olly' the otter.

Fantastic afternoon, the information boards look amazing and once I have the time I shall get cracking on some Conservation work with UEAs Conservation and Wildlife Society :) Well done all!
